Stayed for one night stopover from Scotland to Devon. Great location - about 5 minutes walk to the famous curry mile. The breakfast was reasonable, is served until 10:00am at weekends and checkout is 11:00am. Double room cost £59. Fairly small room and cramped bathroom but shower was very powerful. There is a lack of commercialism about this hotel. Perhaps it's because it is part of the University that makes staying here something of an intelligence test. What other hotel has a web site that does not carry its telephone number? Or has directions that assume that you must be travelling from the south (perhaps aimed at Manchester United fans??!!)... more

I have stayed here twice in 2007 on business which is only 10 minutes drive away. It is geared towards onsite conferences but the food is good and it is close to bars and restaurants. This hotel is located in an amazingly quiet area of Manchester, within the grounds of the University of Manchester sports facilities, south of the city centre. I have stayed here at least 5 times for business and I return every time I have to be in Manchester. It is easy to get to the city centre by cab or bus.... more
