The highway from paris to Lyons crosses large stretches of countryside with few towns or accomodations. There are a cluster of budget hotels at the roadside near Auxerre which can be miserable: the alternative s to take a short drive into the town itself. Being an Ibis, it's exactly the same as every other Ibis in France. The rooms are adequate as are the bathrooms. However my wife refused to use the shower because it had a full length window composed of glass bricks and the room was jettied out over the street. She was convinced that anyone using the shower would be visible... more

This relatively small Ibis is set on a main thoroughfare just outside the city centre (five minute walk), facing the river Yonne. Rooms facing the road have double glazed windows, and noise is not a problem. Our room was clean, but small (by IBIS standards), and had a limited number of cable channels.
