“A Chateaux that lets out rooms - not a hotel”

This place doesn't market itself as a hotel, so don't expect it to be. It's a Chateaux where the owners let the rooms out to paying guests and provide breakfast, which was simple but delicious. From a distance this hotel looked charming, alas it is sorely in need of renovation/maintenance. When we arrived our room had not been cleaned and we had to wait 45 minutes for access. My stay at the Chateau d'Island was not very nice at all and certainly not worth the money. We were one of two rooms occupied in the Chateau.
