The hotel is first rate and the staff -all fluent in English- are incredibly accomodating. It is charming old private home turned inn; centrally located on the main street the city. We got help with tours, rental cars, directions, places to eat etc. I felt I was leaving family behind when I checked out. Most of the battle field tours... more

Very helpful staff. Hotel has tours every day to Mont. St. Michel. Battlebus Normandy tours have a pickup a few steps from the hotel entrance. The Battlebus American Highlights tour guide was great but we didn't spend enough time at the American cemetery. No hotel elevator. Standard size rooms, very clean. Breakfast is ok but not worth 9 euros per... more

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Hotel Churchill using it as home base to see a bit of the Normandy Region from September 1-5, 2008. The hotel is centrally located in Bayeux which is a lovely town to explore on foot. The staff was friendly, professional and were very tolerant of my limited French which I wanted... more

KLM Denver....Nice Hotel...but avoid June 21st The Hotel Churchhill was a very nice stop while traveling in France. The hotel was located right on one of the main streets with shopping and cafes. We found the hotel in a Rick Steves travel guide. The staff was very friendly and courteous. My wife and I have three children, age 6, 9... more

My family stayed at the Hotel Churchill for four nights, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had two double rooms and a single room, and while all were small by American standards, they were plenty spacious. The married owners are veterans of the Hilton Hotel chain, so they know how most tourists expect to see a facility run. The staff were... more

A wonderful place to stay for a few days while we visited the WWII invasion beaches. The hotel has no elevator and our room and bathroom were on the small side (by US Standards). The location-on a pedestrian only street-with a car park in the rear was great. We loved sitting outside and watching the people passing by.Breakfast was not... more

My wife and I stayed at the Churchill in September 2008 for 4 nights. We really liked the hotel as a base for exploring the beaches and other D-day areas by car. The very ample and safe free carpark at the back of the hotel was easy to use and we never had trouble getting a space. I'm not sure... more

The Hotel Churchill appears to be a rather popular hotel, and why not? It's ideally situated, smack dab in the middle of Bayeux, an easy stroll to this pleasant town's two main - and unmissable - sites: the cathedral and Bayeux Tapestry. What's more, the town itself is perfectly situated for excursions to Normandy's countless and compelling D-Day sites, and... more

Our experience with the hotel churchill was amazing right from the start. The owner's emails were exceedingly warm and welcoming. We were blown away by the exquite quality of our accommodation. Our room was a 2 story suite with french doors opening onto the courtyard where we sat on comfortable chairs sipping coffee and excellent tea overlooking the flower baskets... more
