This was a wonderful hotel, especially for the price. Our room was quite large by European standards, clean and well appointed, with lovely toiletries. The breakfast buffet included fresh fruit, yogurt, and whole grain breads rather than the all bread fare of many French breakfasts. There is a beautiful outdoor pool. We didn't use the connected spa because we were... more

We stayed 2 nights to see Aix. The hotel is located on the northern edge of the ring road, but relatively far from the Cours Mirabeau, where most of the activity resides. The walk is not far, so distance isn't really an issue. The hotel is much like an American hotel. The rooms are larger and it has amenities such... more

Most of the reviews point out the one strong point of the Aquabella: its location. For the rest, the swimming pool is indeed quite nice (with its medieval tower), but the rooms are just standard -- not all of them have been refurbished. The ones on the second floor, for example, are is need of paint, new decoration. We were... more

We had a superior room with breakfast included. The room was a good size, clean, freshly decorated and nicely furnished. We had a balcony with lovely views over the rooftops of Aix. The Aquabella is in a very quiet street, but only a couple of minutes' walk from the town centre and great restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly... more

Great location and good breakfast. The Stand Rooms are very dated and need of an upgrade. The hotel gave my friend an upgrade and the room was much better for a little difference in price. I would stay here again for the location and the pool. more

My husband and I spent one night at the Aquabella while traveling through Provence for our first anniversary. While the hotel was difficult to locate, there were signs off the main road that circles the city center. Keep your eyes open; that's the best way to find it. The staff spoke excellent English and recommended things to do and places... more

Stayed here for two nights in May 2007. Hotel rooms are slightly dated but I didn't have a problem with that at all after the shoebox size room we had in Paris! The pool area is tremendous with what looks like Roman ruins surrounding it. Nice spa facilities, too. Didn't try the restaurant, but there are some fabulous patisseries within... more

This hotel is in a great location right on the edge of the old town so everything is walkable but still easy to get to by car. There is a public car park right by the hotel with a special rate payable at the hotel (€9.50 per day). I am really surprised that this is only a 3 star -... more

The location and available car park are good but apart from that its 70,s modern and in a city of such history and charm a little dull.Didnt use the Spa which I am sure is good and the breakfast was a bit costly for what it delivered. I am sure you can do better in this lovely city. more
