My husband and I stayed at Le Cloitre Hotel for three nights in April 2008 and it was fine. The pictures are a bit decieving. The room/bathroom did not look anthing like the pictures on the web. We slept comfortably and accomodations were above average. It is in a good location (while very difficult to find and there is exeptionally... more
We chose this hotel for our final few nights of a touring holiday in Provence on the basis of previous reviews and were pleased that we did. Our criteria were a clean, comfortable bedroom, breakfast and parking and this hotel had all of these, and at a reasonable price. We also thought the property had a lot of character. On... more
We stayed here for 3 lovely nights in early May 2008. I would absolutely come back again. Our room was delightful, plenty of room for 3 people and a nice modern bathroom. The courtyard out front was a splendid place to while away the afternoon, whilst enjoying a bottle of wine and a fresh baguette! This hotel was simply parfait! more
We found the Hotel Le Cloitre quite delightful. The location is superb, the staff is very warm and friendly and helpful and the building is old but entirely workable. About the only drawback (for elderly travelers like ourselves) is the lack of an elevator but we would certainly choose this hotel again. more
We were sent to this hotel when the one we wanted was full. Service was grumpy and we got yelled at several times. Room felt cavelike and cold. more
We stayed four nights in April and were overwhelmed with the friendliness, helpfulness of the staff and of the beauty of Arles & Le Cloitre.... we had a second floor double...need to be fit to do those stairs..it had a great view of the Old Town . Breakfast of very fresh croissants, baguettes, jams and marmalade , hot beverages and... more
While I have recommended the hotel in conversations in the Arles Forum, I never reviewed it and feel compelled to after the negative review above. We have stayed in Arles 4 times since 2000 after reading about the hotel in Rick Steves, and we always return to this hotel. You can look at your room before taking it, and price... more
We had a large room in a great location! It was on a quiet, cute street that still was central and gave us easy access to everything we needed! It was the biggest room I have been in in Europe and it had, by far, the biggest bathroom of anyplace I have seen in Europe! It was clean, comfortable, and... more
Having stayed in a very large impersonal hotel in Avignon for a few days, arriving at the family run Le Cloitre was a welcomed suprise. The hotel has been lovingly restored by the owners Jean Francois and Agnus and is superbly situated just a few minutes walk from the town centre, forum and ampitheatre. On the day we were due... more
