We stayed here in both 2005 and 2006. Unfortunately, the standard of service in the restaurant has dropped quite dramatically. In 2006, there was no sommelier and the new maître d'hôtel was not as good as the previous one. Service at the restaurant was very slow, partcularly at breakfast.. The Auberge de Noves is more of a quiet country home,... more

Pretty chateux and grounds, helpful and pleasant reception staff. Nice pool and great location for exploring Provence, although no local bistros unless you drive a few kilometres to St Remy for example. The restaurant is wonderful with excellent Maitre D's, as you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant, but you don't necessarily want a seven course full-on gourmet experience... more

this place must do all it's business from relais & chateux and is probably an overspill from the more popular places. It's absolutely fine, but it's not got the extra pazazz that other relais properties have. The location isn't great - it's in the countryside, but there's no villages with good restaurants close by so it's a drive to avignon... more

Having read the reviews on this site, the one negative review about Auberge de Noves put me off a bit, and I was reluctant to book this hotel. However, when we arrived, we were much relieved to find a wonderful hotel with very nice facilities and most importantly, a fantastic restaurant. We were staying in what I think was graded... more

Twentyfive years ago my wife and I discovered a haven of peace and tranquility amid the beautiful countryside of Provence. The Auberge de Noves, just south of Avignon, is also ideally situated for visiting the many Roman and Mediaeval in the area as well as touring the fine surrounding countryside. Since this discovery we have returned twice a year for... more

This is a lovely, family run, French hotel. We discovered it 5 years ago and have since visited 2 or 3 times each year for a few days at a time and, judging by the now familiar faces amongst the other guests, we are not the only ‘regulars’. During our stays we rarely leave the hotel and its grounds, it... more

My husband and I first went to the Auberge de Noves over twenty-five years ago and have gone back regularly-- at least fifteen times-- since, and in all seasons. We have just returned from a week's stay there. The Auberge offers a wonderful combination of informality, such as the very readable handwritten suggestions for "rambles"either on or off the property... more

My wife and I have stayed in many R&S properties around the world and have always been very satisfied. So last summer, on short notice, we decided to move farther south in France to avoid some bad weather and found the Auberge de Noves in our Relais & Chateau guide and made an impromptu booking for two nights. We only... more

The quote in the title of this post was from a Boston Globe article about a wonderufl trip to Provence the author had taken sometime after our visit in there early 1990s. The Auberge de Noves is a timesless place, and I'd bet everything there is still as perfect it was in our experience. The same delightful M. Lallman of... more

This is a fine property. The are 14 hectares of grounds that include several promenades yet this location is very near St. Remy, Noves, Avignon, etc. The owner, Mssr. Lalleman (sp?) is a fine old gentlemen. We found the beautiful restaurant to be well-above average in cuisine and service. The sommolier was a little strange in his expressions but ultimately helpful.... more
