This was my 1st stay since 2005. The carpets were filthy as were the curtains. The only positive is the location. There are better choices on the same street. more

Very friendly staff. The location is perfect, beside U-ban and train station. Munich underground transport must be the best in the world that I've experienceed anyway.. The rooms were clean, but pillows were small and no air con made it hot. I didnt see a water/coke vending machine in the hotel so bring it with you.. No smoking hotel but... more
You could play twister on the stains on the carpets thoughout this filthy hotel, both in and outside the rooms. When we arrived the cleaning staff were hauling away wagon loads of empty beer bottles from the rooms. It is no way a 3 star, just a slight notch up from a hostel. The photos above bear no resemblance to... more
Four of us (guys) stayed for three nights (2 x twin rooms). It was basic but clean and the shower functioned well well. Excellent bar (and staff) and stayed open till 0200. Breakfast served a selection of cold meats, cheeses, scrambled/boiled eggs, cereals, bread rolls, fresh coffee/tea and orange juice. It's almost directly opposite the main railway/underground station and about... more
Stayed at the Ludwig for 4 x nights and found it to be clean comfortable and central - what more do you need ?! Didn't eat any meals there so cant comment on food but plenty of places to eat a short walk from the hotel . Munich is a beautiful city and I intend to return in a few... more
When I entered the hotel I thought there must be a mistake and there has to be another Ludwig hotel as well, wich really has 3 stars. This hotel doesn't reach any stars, not 4!!!! It really stinks with cigars, actually unbelievably stinks. The carpets, the wall in the corridor are dirty. The rooms are dark, very small beds, and also... more
This hotel is far from what you would expect of a 3* in Munich. If you are not bothered where you stay then you may find the facilities acceptable but frankly we were so apalled at the standard of the room when we arrived we chose not to stay. The hotel has no way of differentiating between you choosing to... more
I was only going to spend a short night at this hotel after coming in on a late train and before heading out the next day to fly home. The night clerk was going to refuse my reservation from Orbitz since the voucher I printed out from the website was missing a few lines at the bottom. Eventually, he gave... more
This was most definately the grimest place I have ever stepped foot into. The reception was full of smoke from the cigar bar, we thought there was a fire. The carpets had massive stains. The picutures in the hall had been slashed with a knife. The place was a filty fea-pit. The bathrooms were discusting, old, mouldy, and as an... more
four men stayed here for the ocktoberfest. 3 nights. as per other reviews, location excellent, hotel was full but not crowded or noisey. easy 15 min walk to beerfest, only 5 mins on way back! twin rooms were perfect for two men sharing, beds end to end.breakfast room was spacious and staff were friendly and helpful. straight walk into town centre.great... more
