As my business trip was right smack during the Football fever in Germany, I had very little choice with rooms etc. However, the Hotel Carlton made up for it in terms of location and the good breakfast. It was in quaint street in the artsy area near the Odeonplatz station. There were many quaint shops and galleries located near by.... more

I stay in some pretty posh hotels for business but on my own really don't want to spend $300 on a room that I will barely stay in--the point of travel, for me, being to wander and see the city. If your objective is to have a clean bed at a great rate then this hotel is more than adequate.... more

We also booked on line, reconfirmed with direct email, and checked in 14 May without incident (no stories of water damage, no bait and switch). We got a corner room featured on the website. It was large, 3 windows, ample storage space, quite comfortable. Bathroom was large, double sinks, full tub with handheld shower. Toilet was absolutely horrible. We did... more

Booked this on-line, when we got there the hotel staff told us they had 'water' damages. So they told us they had booked us in their 'Other' hotel down the street. This 'Other' hotel was not even comparable. So I went back to the Carlton and I just wanted to see a comparable room, that I did not want the... more

This is a nicely situated hotel. Not a luxury hotel, but was just perfect for our one night stay in Munich. Room was very clean and service was excellent. I didn't see a bathroom in our room and went down to the front desk. It was there, it just looked like the door was to a wardworbe, but went into... more

Don't be deceived: the Carlton in Munich is nothing like the posho Carltons you may have visited elsewhere. But it is a pleasant, cheerful place to put up for a few nights. You wouldn't want to spend any time in the rooms, as they're mostly quite small, but for the price this is a reasonable place to spend the night.... more

The Hotel Carlton is situated 10 minutes walk from the centre of Munich in the University district of Schwabing. Close to town on foot and close to two U-Bahn stops (around 5 minutes walk), the hotel offers excellent access to all the tourist attractions of the city whilst affording a reasonably quiet location (ensuring a decent night's sleep!). The rooms... more
