As 3 star hotels in Munich go, the Hotel Italia is pretty cheap, and actually fairly good value for money. It's a small hotel, but with modern, comfortable rooms. It's clean, reasonably well-appointed and as entirely forgettable as you would expect (in a good way!). Echoing the previous reviewer's comments, our triple room consisted of three separate beds. Breakfast was... more

I was with 2 friends in a triple room in May 2008. We were very satisfied with the hotel. Firstly, it had 3 single bed, not 2 proper beds and a matress so we were all very comfortable. The area is not the best in Munich but I think it is pretty safe and very close to the center. You... more

One thing to note is that this hotel is in the red light district, and in fact has strip clubs/brothels next to it and opposite it. This did not cause us any problems during our stay at all and the streets were not at all threatening, but if you're visiting with kids its something you might want to think about.... more

I've been waiting to review this hotel.(wasn't quite sure how to review it) This hotel was nice for the price. Near city center and main train station. The breakfast was nice. Very basic room, insulation not so great if you're near the breakfast hall. Staff was wonderful!!! I may have been a little harsher in my review had it not... more

Stayed here for one night for oktoberfest. Cost us a fortune (but thats oktoberfest for you). Our triple room was big enough, the breakfast ok, the bathroom pretty good. Only hassle was the line to pay by credit card was down, so we had to go get cash. Would have been a huge problem if you had a huge bill. more

Whatever you do, do not stay here, unless you want to feel like you are in a brothel. If you do want to stay at a brothel, well I guess you will feel right at home. I am not a prude and don't mind having strip clubs in the area, and understand that staying close to the train station might... more

While booking in, two happy-go-lucky backpackers told reception that they just loved staying there. I have no idea what they meant. Upon our arrival we discovered that our room faced west and the late afternoon sun was turning it into an inferno! We closed the curtains and fled to the English Gardens for a beer festival. Upon our return, the... more

We made reservations for this motel on the internet. Reviewing the pictures it looked fine but when we arrived we were very dissatisfied with the accomadations. The rooms were not clean, holes in the wall, the curtains were not even completely hung on the rods. We booked two rooms, one was acceptable (on a limited basis, as we were a... more

Hotel Italia is close to the train station, is clean and has a great breakfast. For the price, better hotels can probably be found. Our room was basic, quite generic, and had a very poky shower with nowhere to put the soap. Not a picturesque street, but safe enough. Very friendly staff. more

We stayed there in late from 10/29 - 11/02/04. The hotel is within walking distance from the train and subway. The staff was attentive, actually they were just wonderful. My husband uses a wheelchair and the staff was extra helpful. Our room was clean. They provided plenty of linens. The breakfast choices were plentiful, well presented and flavorful. We would... more
