The City of Mainz is a perfectly lovely little town best known for its most famous prior reisident (Gutenburg) but there are nice resturants, the hotel is located right on the river and the staff are pleasant. Fine breakfast included in the rate. Lots of Japanese tourists when I was there but no problems. Only complaint is that there is... more

This was a conference hotel for me and for three days, the staff could not have been more helpful. The cheaper conference rate rooms are reached by a bridge over the road, but mine was very adequate with a large bed and a nice bathroom. The buffet was overwhelming and the snacks we were served were incredible. Checkout was easy... more

We had made a reservation in advance and duly checked in. Forty minutes later we had checked out and had a room at the Hyatt Regency. The main problem with this hotel is that half of it is reached via a bridge over the road. The riverside part has rooms with views, reception, the restaurant etc. The other part has...... more

We stayed here two nights at the end of October. We took a king-bedded room on the 7th floor overlooking the front of the hotel. Cleanliness -- exceptional Comfort of room - very good, but the bedding left a lot to be desired. Only two small square pillows on a king-sized bed. I'm sure we could have got more if... more

Nicely maintained hotel - inside and out - with larger than average (for Europe) rooms. Windows that open, nice selection of amenities, and a minibar with space for your own stuff. The best thing for us was the proximity to the old town and the vast variety of restaurants and shops only a couple of blocks away. Also a pleasant... more

We were here in July 2007 and loved it. When we booked it came up as a Mystery 5 star Hotel. So we took the plunge and we were really happy with it. We had a lovely spacious room with a view of the Rhine. We found it very convenient as we wanted to do a Rhine cruise and of... more

I usually stay at the Hyatt but it was booked. This hotel is not in the same league as the Hyatt. Best described as a tired old hotel past it's glory days. A few other issues - shoddy cleaning in the bathroom. I called the front desk, and there was no answer! I caught one of the maids in the... more

I stayed here for 1 night on a business trip and got a twin bed (instead a king size bed as reserved) room of fairly size and view on the river Rhine. This non-smoking room had a decent size. The only thing I missed was a inroom-safe, but was acceptable for this night. The bathroom was average, internet access through... more

The view form my room was the best, right on the river, looking right at the bridge. The hotel is very nice, the staff is helpful and nice. I was in a Deluxe Plus King room. The room size is a good size for Europe. It is a normal size room in the USA. Very nice bed, and was welcomed... more

When: 21 - 24 December 2006. Location: Great location! Right on the river, maybe a block or two from shopping / eating / etc. A 20 minute drive to the Frankfurt Airport. Check-in: There was a little confusion about the reservation details of 1 person or two, and whether breakfast was included, but that MAY have been the Hilton website's... more
