The Mercure Hotel is a nice clean hotel with a good breakfast but it is by no stretch of the imagination a four star hotel. It charges four star prices but doesn't provide all the features one expects. In room internet access is almost universal these days but at the Mercure you have to buy WiFi access from the Cloud... more

I stayed at the mercure congress for 4 nights in May this year and was very happy with my stay. The stay was booked through my work (for a research trip to the volklinger steel works, which is amazing by the way and only 10 mins away by car) so I was understandably a bit apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised... more

The Mecure Kongress is shown on the web site as a 3 star hotel but I think it is actually a 4 star . Room and restuarant were excellent as were the staff . The hotel is about 10 minutes walk downhill ( gentle slope ) from the railway station . I'm 63 and found the walk back to the... more
