I think the thing I disliked about the hotel was that it seemed very poor value for money, and the basic rate (our rate did include breakfast) was supplemented by a barrage of "extras" - apparently, parking one's car in the hotel car park is so much of an extra that it is charged at €16 per DAY - and... more

If you're looking for something pleasant and elegant in Dresden, look at the Kempinski Taschenbergpalais or Hilton's Hotel de Saxe - but avoid the Westin! The hotel itself exudes all the charm of what the former communist regime may have considered Western style. The front desk staff is very friendly, but ineffective. They will smile and apologize - and do... more

You can still feel that this hotel was build in the early 80s as far as the interior and exterior is designed. Built to bring in hard currency from tourists visiting the former DDR it was state of the art at the time. However nowadays its rather ugly. If you get a room facing the Elbe you will be able... more

Our party of 7 stayed at the Westin Bellevue Dresden in early June 2007. Every part of our stay was fantastic. We had 3 rooms (my mother had her own room and we also had 2 triples) which were all next to each other on the same floor. The girl at checkin was delightful, friendly and efficient and very helpful... more

We stayed at this hotel 3 nights in late April ( 07) and highly recommend it . Great location for access to old or new city. Ten minute walk to Zwinger or Green Vault. Beautiful hotel with an outstanding ,well trained professional staff. There is a wonderful courtyard and small garden in the back with a nice view of the... more

This is a beautiful hotel with an outstanding spa and fitness center. The hotel is conveniently located. The hotel restaurant is excellent, and the breakfast buffet with champagne and fresh salmon is outstanding. more

Being over for a short break to the Opera and Christmas Markets the city seemed full to bursting. The Westin is well located and we enjoyed the walk over the river to the 'old Town'. The short walk was nice going to and from the Opera as well as everything else (Dresden is so compact that you are never far... more

Arrived in Dresden by car on a Saturday afternoon, city was heaving with tourists and all hotels in old town were full. The Westin Belle Vue has a good position and is only a short walk across the bridge into the old town. Because the hotel was so busy there were no tables available in the restaurant so we were... more

We stayed here for two nights. The reception staff were not very friendly, the decor of the room was rather dated, and in particular the equipment in the gym was ancient and poor quality. The bed was certainly not the Heavenly Bed we have enjoyed at other Westins; instead, it was an old mattress that pushed both people towards the... more

Found a great deal for this hotel at lastminutetravel. This is a very upscale European hotel. It has a great location along the river and only a 5 minute walk from all of the sites. We enjoyed the free buffet breakfast with all you can drink champagne and freshly made omelets. I would definitely recommend staying here. The only problems... more
