We stayed in this Holiday Inn in 2005. Two years later, in February, 2007, we tried to book it for the following May. It was already full!!. Which shows two things. Clean hotel, comfortable rooms, and a great rate after selecting AAA rate at hotel website. Very close to transit system. Hotel sells tickets for the transit system. Free parking in a parking lot. Skipped breakfast which seemed a bit pricey. more

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Dresden for 3 days in May. It is a bit far from the city center. 15-20mins on foot to the Neustadt Train station that has express trains to Leipzig, Berlin and Prague or 5 euros cab ride. This Holiday Inn on Stauffenbergalle in Dresden is out of the way but a real value. Operation is above the 3 star designation it carries and at least as good as any US Holiday Inn. A reasonable hotel, close to airport and close to major businesses. Most will require a taxi though. It's about 1 to 2.5 miles to other restaurants, shopping, and Dresden sights.
