we stayed one night 16 july 2008 and would recommended this hotel wholeheartedly. Spotlessley clean rooms, friendly reception staff and a very complete buffet breakfast. It's location on Calle Larios is probably the best in Malaga, and the room rate via internet was very competitive. It's sister hotel(Lola) provided us with cheap car parking in Malaga and looked to be... more

We just spent a weekend in the Room Mate Larios, we stayed there a few years ago before the Room Mate chain took it over and were a little concerned it may have lost it´s individual character. How wrong we were! The hotel has retained it´s Art Deco charm, oozes character and the staff were all excellent, so helpful and... more
This hotel was clean and centrally located along a major pedestrian shopping area in Malaga, It was also close to the Picasso museum. The parking was about 3 blocks away at a public garage, but it worked out okay, once we found it and the hotel (Malaga is a very confusing city to drive in). The staff was very helpful.... more
Altough this place is trying pretty hard to be a reference in Malaga, the fact is that the rooms are both noisy and old. To become a trendy hotel is not just to install a plasma screen in the rooms but spend good money trying to help the customer to rest. However the, location is perfect (unless you are bringing... more
We only spent one night at the Room Mate Larios in Malaga, but we would have liked to stay longer. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived early and were allowed to book in straight away without any problem. The room was large, well appointed, and very clean. The room faced a pedestrianized street and with... more
I was a bit worried about this hotel after seeing some reviews here, although I like the Room Mate chain. However, we were very impressed. One reviewer made the point that it was not of four-star quality as it used to be. But when I checked a guide book, I found the rates now being charged were substantially less than... more
This hotel used to be a classic 4 star city hotel. The last time I stayed, Easter 2006, I bumped into Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffiths in the bar - a little bit of Hollywood glamour in Malaga. The building is Art Deco and used to have a real glamourous quality. Now it is part of the room mate group,... more
Malaga Town is largely overlooked by many of the tourists hungry to get to the Costas, and is all the better for that. It's a great place to start a break in Andalucia; attractive, relaxed and compact with great tapas restaurants and shops ( one of the best meals ever was at Gorki,Calle Strachan, which does a wonderful bean and... more
