We have just returned from the Rui Ferrera and enjoyed a very relaxing break with excellent weather! This hotel is beautifully designed and the pool is the biggest I've ever seen. Grounds are also well kept and we could not fault the design or our room. However, where it all falls down is the general ambiance of the place and... more

This is a very clean hotel with a lovely swimming pool area. (Did fall down the slippery steps from reception!) Immaculate gardens. Attentive staff. Gym equipment replaced with shiny new things this week! Found food excellent - good quality, wide variety and plenty of it - not sure how they manage it on this scale. Not keen on a time... more

Me and my boyfriend are mid 20's and visited in October 2008 for 4 nights. Good points: Greeted at reception with a glass of champagne, hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, bar staff bring your drinks to you in the lounge, you just walk in and sit down and they come and take care of you, lots of gorgeous... more

My husband and I went to this hotel with our daughter who is two years old next week. we had a lovely time. there is a small pool for babies/small children and a lovely pool with a shallow end as well. mini club house open for a couple of hours during the day where children can paint, have their faces... more

although a very presentable & clean hotel, the riu ferrara does lack certain facilities. On the plus side, the hotel staff are very friendly, rooms are more than adequate, it is clean & up-to-date. Food is plentiful & good. On the negative side, there is no childrens pool although there is a kids club. The hotel is geared to cater... more

We knew from previous reviews the hotel would be fine and it was, stunningly designed and beautifully laid out, pool was just wow, biggest we have seen and didnt have any problems getting a sunbed. Room we were in was a little small but ok as we were not in it much. We had all our meals on the terrace... more

This hotel was stunning inside and out. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we entered the hotel with either a glass of orange or champagne, then we were offered a cold salad as we arrived at 11pm. The rooms were very clean with bedding being changed every other day. All the staff were extremely polite and... more

We booked the RIU Monica in Oct 2007 for Aug 2008 following the rave reviews on trip advisor. Two days before we were due to arrive we received a call changing us to the RIU Ferrara in Torrox - they had overbooked - it was a shock and I lost sleep, but once we arrived it was great and the... more

Lovely hotel, clean, safe, nice pool. but not worthy of 4 star. have to reservr sunloungers at 8am,as there are not enough. for those who would like to sit not lie, there are currently no chairs, canopies, tables outside. Sunlounger or restaurant-very poor-but many people complained so hopefully mangement will rectify. all they have to do is buy 3o odd loungers and some plastic tables... more

This hotel is really nice and the staff I encountered seemed very friendly. Pool area lovely and very clean but the early morning sunbed hogging was a pain. The hotel have pool rules but dont enforce them so be prepared to get up early and snooze on your sunbed. We were there for two weeks and I think you really... more
