My husband and I stayed at the Carmen Hotel a few weeks ago with our four children and were very happy with our stay. It was a very clean comfortable hotel, with large rooms and bathrooms. Our rooms faced the street, and although it was a busy street, we were not bothered at all by any noise. The hotel has... more

The hotel is supposed to be a four star. I have stayed at 2 star hotels that were much better. Tiny cramped rooms that were falling apart. Broken doors, rotten wood in the bathroom, cracked walls, sink and WC. Nothing seemed very clean. They appear to have a renovated area, will advertise those rooms and then set you up in... more

I was on a group tour so this hotel was booked for me. Before leaving, I checked all the hotel reviews we were going to stay at and this one had the most negatives so I wasn't expecting much. I have to say, that I was surprised. THe hotel is in a perfect location. It was clean, quiet (even though... more

Reading through the previous reviews I cannot believe I stayed at the same hotel! I have stayed in a few hotels around the same area in Granada and think that the Carmen is very good. The hotel is in a great location directly opposite El Corte Ingles in the centre of the city with lots of tapas bars, shops and... more

Booked hotel through American Express for my wife and 5 year old daughter. Asked for a queen bed, but got 2 twin beds that were pushed together. Room was absolutely disgusting. Seemed as if the carpet had not been cleaned for years. Bed lined appeared dingy and not clean. Bathroom was a diaster with mold in the tub and broken... more

Stayed two nights during a tour through Andalusia. Clean rooms although with a small window. Not a place to spend your entire day, but who would stay on his room in Granada! Perfect location: all hotspots in walking distance. Seventies furniture in vogue now. more

We stayed at the Carmen for one night in September, 2007. The hotel is an older facility and the room was clean, but not otherwise impressive. I understand that the rooftop bar area offers a spectacular view, but access to the area was locked. The food was satisfactory. The hotel is located downtown and is within easy walking distance of... more

This hotel is not only very ugly it is dilapidated. Our room was very smelly and had no, or broken air-con. We politely asked several times about this but were met with blank faces. I got the impression that the 'mechanic' was just a friend of a friend, and nobody really cared if anything got fixed. We had to sleep... more

The view from the roof top pool and restaurant area was amazing! The moment I walked up the stairs to this area I saw the Alhambra, mountains and cityspace, and it was breathtaking. I would reccommend having dinner there at dusk. The food was also very good. I wasn't very happy with the service provided by the hotel staff. They... more

Our family has just returned from a 2-week vacation in Spain and this hotel was our worst. It is rated as 4 stars but the rooms barely deserve 1. We had two rooms, both with windows giving onto interior shafts. One room had a horrible smell, old furniture, even older carpet and a tv dating from an ancient era. The... more
