Very stylish hotel in a good location in Barcelona close to the University. A short walk from Playa Catalunya and Ramblas. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. There was some problem with our booking between the Uk travel agent and the Spanish travel agent, but they took care of it and understood the concept of customer service which... more

Stylish hotel, great location! A bus station is right in front of the hotel and the subway station (University) is a couple of minutes away. However, walking down the street towards Placa Catalunya is very nice and along the way, you'll encounter many stores like Zara, Topshop, Bershkin etc. The famous quarter- Las Ramblas- is also very close which makes... more

I just came back from a short stay in Rafelshotel Casanova. Already the first impression was a very positive surprise as the hotel entrance and lobby are very stylish and elegant. Our room was very clean and modern. The bathroom is new and stylish, with bathrobes and slippers. All the staff, from the reception to the restaurant was very friendly... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night break at the Casanova, having returned on 7 March. Wheelchair users will find a ramp to the foyer and then everywhere else is on the level. Although our B&B package was for a standard room we had the use of a larger bedroom with excellent access to the superbly-equipped bathroom. This was at the back... more

I stayed at this hotel with my bf and his parents for 5 days in January 2008. When we first walked into the hotel the staff were very friendly and most helpful, their Englinsh was very good. As the hotel was not busy they even asked us if we would like to be upgraded to a Queensize room! The rooms... more

Stayed here for 3 nights with another couple - both rooms were modern, clean and great bathrooms. Hotel is in a great location just 10 mins walk to the crowds at Las Ramblas so in a good area with quiet a few cafe's nearby for breakfast options and snacks. Street is quiet busy but on the 3rd floor we didnt... more

Stayed for a few nights on a bed & breakfast basis between Christmas and New Year and chose the hotel after reading TA reviews. The hotel has a lovely facade and is on the Gran Via and an easy 5-10 minute walk to Placa Catalunya. Nearest metro is Universitat a couple of minutes away. Once through he doors its like... more

The hotel is located convenient to the main street, the interior is clean and stylish, the price didn't feel overly expensive; however a big problem was safety. The door didn't have a dead bolt, which from a US resident standpoint a bit worrysome but some may say normal for a European hotel. One night, there was a group of very... more

The hotel is really good. For the price we have paid it was overal very good. The point that we missed was that there wasn't a swimming pool, but I think when they would have a swimming pool this hotel certainly would get a 5 star. And would be more expensive. The hotel has a very good orientation, near plaza... more

Just come back from 3 night break in Barcelona, 13 adults, we stayed at the Rafael Casanova Hotel. The hotel was very good and only a short walk to the centre of the city. The rooms were modern and very comfortable the only downside was the hotel is on a very busy road and consequently the noise from the traffic... more
