This is a very charming hotel. The service was great and the location perfect, right in the middle of Portofino. The staff was very professional and courteous. We were travelling with two small children and they were very accomodating to our special needs. The restaurant is excellent and very private. We had a room with a balcony looking out on to the piazza and it was absolutely charming. We visited Hotel Splendido to use the pool and it is breathtaking... more

We had dinner at the Splendido Mare which was great food and service. We found the service and food much better than our experience at the other Splendido "up the hill" where service was poor and food only acceptable for such a restaurant!! Choose the Mare anytime...they're not resting on thier reputation! more

I know that most people have probably heard of the fabulous Hotel Splendido on the hill in Portofino, but very few people know of the sister hotel in the heart of the town, right on the quayside. When I arrived at the hotel .. unfortunately I was stolen my mobile phone.Although I was very disappointed ,I tried to enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel at its best.From the lovely dinner....with an excellent wine list and good selection of food to the confortable quality of the rooms.
