Went to this hotel because our company organized a gala dinner customer event. Although in front of the main train station, the rooms are very quite which is positive. Think that restaurant is a little bit overrated and you are better off if you do go for dinner outside the hotel. Parking space is available with the concierge 10m from... more

Good location just steps from the main train station. Old hotel, I guess it´s been refurbished, although it´s lost the charm it could have in the past. Meridien hotels are normally modern, this is a bit old-fashioned. The receptionist hardly made eye contact at check-in, but it was fast and correct. My room was large, big bathroom with big bath... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on a trip to Italy and the Greek Islands. The hotel is a grand old hotel that is 100% european. If you are looking for an american feel this is not your place. The hotel is in a decent location in town, but not a perfect one. The service is fair, as... more

Upon arriving at the hotel were told we would have to wait for a room for at least two hours so went off and came back. The room we eventually were allocated made us wish we hadn't bothered returning. It was at the back of the hotel, very dark and over-looking the air conditioning vents and the tram route below.... more

First, the good news: The Meridien Gallia is a grand old lady, on a grand square. I arrived from my 3-leg transatlantic flight at 10 am, and was given my room right away. Even during a hot period, the A/C in my room kept things nicely cool, whereas friends staying in another 'grand' hotel in town could never get their... more

My husband, 14-year-old son and I stayed here for two nights in early June 2008 upon our arrival in Italy. We had two connecting rooms which faced the train station. Watching all the activity was fun, and yet the rooms were very quiet. They were quite large, understated in an elegant way, and perfectly maintained. The bathrooms were absolutely amazing... more

I was put in an enormous room; given that the hotel is very ornate, spacious and classy, it was quite a treat. The room had 2 (very) small balconies looking out over the street and across to the Central Station. However, I had a few complaints--mostly relevant only because I was traveling for business. First, the internet was extraordinarily slow--it... more

As I told the girl at reception: it is always a pleasure to stay here. OK, there are maybe better, more modern, more glamorous hotels in Milano, but the old world charm of the Gallia is one of their assets. The hotel is superbly situated in front of Milano Centrale (easy access to Metro and the transfers to Malpensa, Bergamo... more

I loved this hotel. I just adored it. I stayed here for four nights in August 2007. It was one of the best hotels in my 10 week trip! The room is just lovely - dainty, artistic, perfect! Fridge, TV, desk, etc. Bathroom was just as brilliant - although the tub was a bit smaller than American tubs, and there... more

Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded without asking. The room was amazing. Spacious, clean, well decorated. It is located next to the central station so access to all trains, subways, shuttles to the airport... is right there. Close to the main shopping area. Really a nice spot. Safe to walk around and lots of great... more
