Visited Venice for a 3 night city visit and stayed at the Ambassador Tre Rose. We were impresssed. The hotel is ideally placed just behind the Piazza San Marco [the heart of the city]. It is a typical small, old style, big city European hotel. Although the rooms are very small they are very clean, well decorated and the ensuite... more

When I first arrived at Tre Rose, I was initially disappointed. The Way it is presented, the locality, the decor was indifferent. When we were first shown to the room,I looked at my wife, she looked at me and we knew we had to move. The staff happily moved us,but it took for us to ask for a different Hotel, that they gave... more

Because I have realised how much the guests are undecided about the Ambassador hotel due to the old reviews, I would like to take the chance to point out the review titled "Tre Rose Tre Stars!!" which reflect the real situation of the hotel at this time. Since the beginning of the 2007 a lot of things are changed here....

The hotel was nice and clean, as were the rooms and staff were very friendly. Ideally situated just behind St Marks Square - easy to find. No cooked breakfasts, however, plenty of choice for cereals and pastries. Would definately stay in this hotel again for a city break. Discovered the Winter months are a good time to visit, as not... more

This hotel has got great location. We have booked through Lastminute com for 3 nights for £280. So price wasn't to bad at all. We wanted to stay in Venice and walk so this hotel was great. It is not luxury but clean, air conditioned worked really well. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is standard and overall I think it is... more

Despite all the other reviews we read, this hotel was quite good. It's a great base, as the square is only one minute walk away. The people are extremely friendly and willing to help. The rooms are of adequate size if you go there not expecting luxury. Breakfast is basic, but there are great cakes in packets. Cereal, chese, ham,... more

The hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there, and we got one of the freshly done rooms. Small, but no smaller than most European three-star hotels, with a better-than-usual bathroom. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and closing windows shut out any street noise at night. (Can't speak, though, for the air conditioning, since we were there in April.)... more

Great position as this hotel is a stones throw from St Marks square. Hotel is very basic with the tiniest room I have ever been in. Bathroom so small that the sink wouldn't fit and was in the bedroom. As you leave the hotel there is a very nice bar to the right but beware if you eat or drink... more

Brilliant location (unless you have small children and don't care to explain the exhibits in the wndows of the erotica museum across the alley) Dull old fashioned decor and cramped. Smelt of drains in the foyer and stairwell. Beds were comfortable, though pillows were on the hard side. Bedroom was beautifully tidied each day and the girl in the restaurant... more

I found this hotel to be a disappointment. The carpeting was stained, the room was cramped, but worst of all the balcony doors in your room were always open to the outdoors because the air conditioner unit's hose went through the doors to some connection outside! I've never seen anything like it! We were told all the rooms had the... more

Beautiful small hotel tucked right behind San Marco Square. Very friendly and accomodating staff, very clean room with roomy marble bathroom having the latest facilities. We expected a cramped inconvenient accomodation as we are a family of 4 with two teenagers, but ended up with a suite with a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette. Room was nicely appointed and comfortable.... more
