We visited the Hungaria Palace 29/6 /08 to 4/7/08 as a party of 8 to celebrate a special Birthday and it proved to be perfect. The staff were 1st class, most spoke good english and they were helpful and friendly to all our requests. Breakfast offered a huge choice and was served until 10.00am. The rooms we had on the... more

We booked to stay here after suddenly having to find a hotel at the last minute but found it a great surprise. The botel is near the Vaparetto stop on the Lido with boats every 10 minutes into the centre of Venice. We had had a particularly busy week up to that point so it was really nice to come... more

After reading some of the reviews we had mixed feelings about staying at this hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel looks great from the outside and is just as good inside. The rooms are very comfortable and plenty of hot water! The staff are very helpful and speak good English. All in all I would recommend this... more

Reading the reviews had me worried about the hotel, relieved to say I worried for nothing. We saw no evidence of the renos that were mentioned earlier and the restaurant was open for brunch which worked out perfectly for us. The location is away from the still large crowds around St. Marks which we really appreciated in the last few... more

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and it really complements the magic of Venice. In defining nice...charming, cultural, clean, well located, good value. Despite my concerns having read the posting about the renovation work, there really isn’t anything to worry about. The restoration work is absolutely essential to preserve the magnificent majolica tiled exterior and... more

Had a good week long stay at the Hungaria Palace hotel, the room was small but clean and functional with air con and a fridge but the bed was very hard . We were very concerned about the reports of refurb work and the restaurant is closed unti October. However we did not have any problems with building noise and... more

Just returned from the Hungaria Palace(have stayed there twice before and loved it) the hotel is currently a building site. There is no restaurant at the present time- something which we only discovered on checking in. We were not informed of the state of affairs at the hotel when we booked via expedia, and I am now in process of... more

We couldn't believe our luck when we arrived at this hotel; it was under renovations, was still operating and did not look safe. This hotel was chosen by my tour company, who should have found us alternative accommodation. I am sure on other occasions it would be a lovely place to stay but the outside of the hotel was covered... more

My husband and I stayed at the Hungaria Palace for 2 nights during our honeymoon. Located in the island of Lido, it was about a 20 min boat ride from San Marco. Our first impression was great! Lido is a clean little island away from all the crowds and noise. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk away from... more

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. It was only a five minute walk from the ferry stop on Lido. We were greeted nicely and escorted directly to our room by one of the staff members. The room was huge with 16 foot ceilings, two separate rooms plus a large bathroom. The bathroom had a large bathtub which I loved. It... more
