We have just returned from our Italy trip, and we stayed at the Abbazia Hotel for our Venice visit. The location is perfect for those who are travelling around Italy via the train, it is located about 100 meters from the Venice train station. The walk into San Marco was about 20 minutes. Easy access to the water taxi's. The... more

Hotel Abbazia is a converted abbey within steps of the train station. It is down a narrow alleyway, and so has the feeling of great privacy. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful, but also incredibly funny. Our interaction with them made the hotel feel very personal, and earned our loyalty. Besides the pleasant and memorable desk service, there are... more

Very close to the train station and Piazzale Roma, but you don't experience the business normally associated with that type of location. The Abbazia is tucked away down a little side street. The lounge area is very pretty and oddly enough we noted that this hotel smells wonderful - due to the oil infusers placed around the hotel. The rooms... more

We stayed for two nights in Hotel Abbazia. We booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and weren’t disappointed. The Hotel is a quiet lane just 150m from Venice Santa Lucia train station. The rooms were of good size and well decorated, but we didn’t like the room colour as it looked a bit dull, apart from that it was... more

This converted monastery provided us with the a central base with which to visit Venice. Looks quite tatty from the outside, but is beautiful inside with material clad walls in our bedroom overlooking the garden. Yes, we were right underneath the bell tower but somehow the bells were charming and just added to our holiday. Service was really good and... more

Just back from a three day break in Venice 13-15th March, after booking a cheap flight with Ryanair from Liverpool. Searched the net and decided on this hotel after reading reviews on here, booked direct with the hotel as i got abetter deal than the sites which claim to do it cheaper. arrived at the hotel in the morning and... more

We stayed here for three nights in August of 2007 and it was absolutely amazing. Initially we decided on the hotel because it was located close to the train station. We knew it would be hard to roll our luggage around Venice after arriving so we wanted something close. When we arrived we were greeted by a very professional and... more

We have just returned from a trip to Venice, Paris & London. We spent three nights at the Hotel Abbazia in February and had a great visit. Of the three hotels we stayed at on our trip this was by FAR the best. PROS - Hands down the best coffee I have ever had in my life. The breakfast in... more

The hotel was 10 minutes' walk from the bus station, and we walked everywhere for our 3 days there. The staff were really helpful, humorous and efficient. The building is stunning, full of historical features (a pulpit in the bar/lounge area!). Breakfast was help yourself, plenty of choice, frequently replenished. Hot choc croissants yummy! Shops nearby, good restaurants, Jewish ghetto... more

We loved the Hotel Abbazia. The location is minutes away from the train station. We exited the train station by a side door (from the trains, if you face the main exit this door is on your left you can see the brick wall outside the door) followed the small walkway to the street, you will be facing a bridge,... more
