Our room was very, very tiny and very ugly. There were two of us and only one at a time could walk sideways around the bed. There was hardly any space to put our clothes and suite cases. Most of our things we left packed and shoved our suitcases under the bed. There was an eye stinging bright blue faux... more

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Goldoni for three nights in April 2007. We choose the hotel because it is near our son's apartment. Because Florence is a walking city, the location is fine. As a matter of fact, its location is better than another hotel we stayed in on an earlier occasion, because it is away from... more

I liked the hotel. Everything was good: location, building, room (though a little small for a double but with a tiny balcony), bathroom (shower cabin is just a part of the bathroom separated with the transparent door, but spacious, good water jet), breakfast was not bad at all. Just one thing was bad: the elevator was terrible audible all night... more

This was a pretty mundane hotel with a cool elevator. It was well located although off the beaten path and very quiet. The bathroom had a kind of strange smell that lasted throughout the 3 days there. Also the room was decorated as if the furniture came from Rent-a-center. A blue mirrored headboard? The walls were sponge painted. It was... more

It's the 3rd time we have stayed in Florence, as well as visiting the Italian Lakes and Sorrento over the years. We stayed at the Goldoni about 5 years ago and when we revisited Florence this September we decided to stay there again. We've sampled some three star hotels in Italy and for a city centre hotel, the Goldoni certainly... more

After entering the "lobby" of the building that this hotel is situated in and noting the ancient wooden elevator which, combined with the grey stone staircase (which we relentlessly used as my daughter would not use the elevator!) look like something out of 1930s New York Gangster movies, you arrive at the 2nd floor to an unusual but charming 3... more

When you arrive the entry staircase is a bit of a shock because the Hotel lives on the second floor but you get used to it. The Goldoni is a pleasant proprietor run hotel, he keeps a low profile with the consequent lack of attention to detail, though the staff were helpful when asked. Considering Florence is an expensive place... more

The Goldoni is in an excellent location, however we were very dissapointed with our room. Basically we were just in a room that was obviously once a hallway and they have just put some walls around it and made it into a bedroom. Would no stay there again however we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. more

We stayed here for 3 nights recently on a special low season rate of 75 euros per night (incl. tax and breakfast). What a charming find! We debated whether to plump for usual 5* comfort or settle for a moderate hotel to enable our spending money to go further, given that Florence is a shopper's haven! We definitely made the... more

I stayed here with my mother in May 2004, and it was a lovely place. We had a room for two, and it had two twin beds. The TV was tiny, but I didn't come to Florence to stay inside. The bathroom was small but marbled from floor to ceiling, and was sufficient for what we needed. The room was... more
