We were put into this hotel by Viking River Cruises who we had a wonderful experience with on the Rhine. We were originally supposed to go to the Radisson SAS, but for some reason were moved to this hotel. There are three good things about this hotel, the location was fine and it was clean. I do also have to... more

We stayed here for two nights on a Globus Tour. I was concerned about this hotel from other reviews on the site. We stayed in the older part and the beds are desperately in need of replacement. We could feel the springs through the padding BUT did get a good night's sleep. No disturbance from the disco bar on the... more

As others have stated, you really have to be careful what room you get. Although we wanted one of the groovy new rooms, none were available, so we stayed in the older part. Unfortunately, although the room was clean and the bed comfortable, little effort was made to keep it in line with the very cool new part (the lobby... more

I would never stay at this hotel again! We stayed for 2 nights and the disco bar kept us up both nights until 4 am. The constant thumping of the music was annoying, not to mention the roudy people who stood outside the bar yelling. I'm not sure where exactly this bar is situated however in another comment on this... more

The Astoria is actually three buildings: the latest (in the middle) is by Herzog & De Meuron, Swiss star architects. The lobby is spectacular, all stark white. It surely does not represent the older parts of the hotel. Had a fantastic room: wooden floors, white furniture, glass on three sides (no glare!). The bathroom was even better: again white, walk-in... more

This hotel is not to be believed- and not in a good way. The rooms are sparse- there wasn't even a clock or clock-radio-alarm clock, anywhere in the room. There was a small safe, however someone had left it locked. I was there for three days and continued to try to get someone to open it. Four separate people at... more

Only positive is the location. Front counter staff are rude and make no effort to address/resolve your concerns. Noisy no matter which building or whether you are facing the street or not. AC is shut off even in May when the temperatures are in the mid to high twenties. Apparently the hotel doesn't feel travellers have the intelligence to adjust... more

The design of the "new Astoria" is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. See the Penthouse Roof Top Bar! Nice Staff. more

decent place, not as funky as it looks online. they wouldnt let us upgade once we were there. so we had a small outdated room with two junky beds shoved together that kept sliding apart. the bathroom was nice and newer. but the whole place smelled like smoke. the night clubs rocked all night long. STAY ON THE LOWER FLOORS.... more
