We began a tour with this beautiful city. Fabulous room with a huge balcony overlooking the alps & the lake. Sunrises & sunsets were breathtaking. Lovely & huge room (be sure to book in the lakeside building). Fabulous bathroom & ammenities. Great fruit basket & chocolates in our room upon arrival. Food was very good. Outstanding views from the restaurant,... more
This hotel IS NOT a five star hotel as advertised. It's just OK at best. The decor is straight out of the 'The Spy who shagged me'. I mean, tired is not the word for it. It's a horrible hodge podge of the past 30 years. No lie, the reception area has leopard printed sofas! The air conditioning, if you... more
I spent two nights at the Hotel Eden while traveling with my sister ... It's a nice place, and the staff is welcoming and professional. The room itself was fine, and the hotel amenities were generally good. The location is excellent, and it was great to slip our of my room for a run right along Lake Lugano. The only... more
Like other reviewers, I'm not sure whether this hotel merits a 5 star rating, but it's very nice, and we had an excellent 6 night stay. It's definitely a 5 star location. Beautiful views of the lake, city and surrounding mountains, and only a short walk along the lakeshore to the center of town. The biggest deficiency, as others have noted,... more
This hotel looks impressive on their website and so does the lobby which is well decorated and modern, but they need to take some of the money they spent updating the lobby to update the crappy rooms. The pro is that the hotel has an excellent five star location right across the street from the lake and I believe all... more
A good hotel, a nice location, but the price you pay for it doesn't match the comfort of the room and what the hotel has to offer. It's way too overpriced. The breakfast is too poor for a 5 star hotel. It has 2 kinds of salami, 2 kinds of wursters, cherry tomatoes, 2 kinds of cheese, some eggs, yogurt... more
I have returned from a week at the Grand Hotel Eden with my mother. The hotel is magnificent, the view splendid and the room beautiful with a great terrace. All days were just magic. Large choice for breakfast with the lake view, easy access to the center and nice promenade. And if the weather is not nice, the hotel is... more
This luxurious hotel deserves all the praise one can muster…we couldn’t find any fault whatsoever other than at check out when the cashier couldn’t operate the credit card machine and kept our taxi waiting .Aside from that it was pure perfection from the rooms to the restaurant food. One thing that bothered me however was: why does an expensive 5... more
Arrived late (around 23:30) after traffic problems and were shown to our room which had the noisiest air conditioning unit ever; it would have been impossible to sleep. Then, instead of being told to relax by the bar whilst a room was found for us we had to follow the concierge to the next room only to find the lights... more
