The Alpenhof is a good four star hotel - clean, well maintained, traditional style located two minutes walk from the Sunegga funicular and five minutes walk from the station. I stayed in this hotel nearly 20 years ago and always wanted to return. What a good decision! We stayed at the Alpenhof for 2 nights the last week of September. We had adjoinging rooms, room 304 and 305. The rooms were spotless with wonderful balconies . My wife and I were guests at the Alpenhof for a week in January 2005. On arrival we knew pretty much what to expect having been shown round the hotel on our last visit to Zermatt.
