The Collecter is a fantastic place to stay. Its position near to the Mueseumplien and excellent transport links make it a perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. We loved every moment . The rooms are spacious , clean, and really well equiped, the self serve kitchen for breakfast is fantastic if you prefer to do your own thing when you want.... more

The Collector is a great place. I selected it because of the quiet but convenient location and the self service kitchen. Our room facing the garden was small, but very clean and comfortable with huge windows we could open to catch the breeze. The kitchen, which was spotless and well equipped, really came in handy when we got up late... more

This place was clean friendly and wonderfully located. 3 minute walk to Concertbegow, 5 to Van Gogh Museum and Rieksmuseum. Quiet residential neighborhood with nice restaurants. Karel was friendly but stayed out of your way. Plenty of food left in the kitchen for breakfast. When I asked if I could install "Skype" on his computer. He said "sure" and the... more

First of all, Karel is a very nice man and kind landlord. The location is extremely convenient, 5 mins from the Van Gogh Museum. The bedroom was clean, so where the linen and the towels. The kitchen was a little less clean (the cutlery and dishes, in particular), but overall we were very satisfied and will probably book again in... more

We stayed at the Collector for two nights recently and found it to be as good as the reviews here indicate. It has three good sized rooms, two in the back looking over a garden and one in the front adjacent to the communal kitchen looking out onto the street. We were in the room on the street (2nd floor),... more

My best friend and I celebrated our 50th birthdays with a vacation in Amsterdam. We spent 5 nights at The Collector, and couldn't have been happier. I had done a lot of research on available B&B's (and hotels), and decided to try The Collector due to all the positive reviews; they were spot on! We had the smaller of the... more

Other reviewers have already said it all. This is a delightful B & B in a lovely house in a fashionable part of Amsterdam. Ideally placed for all the tourist attractions, museums, Concertgebouw 50m away (free concerts on Wednesday lunchtimes). Karel makes sure you have everything you need but leaves you to your own devices, Help-yourself breakfast with well stocked... more

This was our first visit to Europe and Amsterdam in particular. We were very concerned about hotel room sizes in Europe after reading Rick Steves, Frommers and other travel guides. But a friend of my daughters mentioned she loved The Collector and we decided to give it a try. Having never stayed in a B@B before(because my wife didn't want... more

we had a great time at The Collector from March 6 to 10, 2008. Karel is extremely obliging, has excellent info at hand and can advise you on what ever your interests are in Amsterdam and beyond in Holland. The large room was very nice, with a good view; the tram stops right outside and we walked all over in... more

Stayed here 2 nights in March for 105 euros per night. It was very clean and a good location. The self serve kitchen is the best idea. Everything you would possibly want and or need is there for the taking. I liked not having to be at breakfast at a particular time. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and staying at... more
