This hotel was fantastic. Close to the metro and all the ruins. Near the plaka if that is your thing, but i would recommend the square in the Plaski closer to the hotel. It has more locals and pricers are cheaper. The hotel itself is VERY clean. The rooftop has the best views of the Accropolis in the whole city.... more

We just returned from a vacation to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. I booked this hotel because of it's location and view of the Acropolis ( which was great) and cost. Our rooms were adequate, we had to book 2 doubles as a quad room isn't available ( family of 4) and although the hotel website advertises internet availability there is... more

I had the best time at the Hotel Arion. It is simply a lovely and peaceful hotel and I would highly recommend staying there. You get breakfast from 7 - 10am, and it's always generous. The staff at the hotel are amazing. I was a solo female traveller and they looked after me well and and were very friendly and... more

Hello futur visitor of Athens, As I gained a lot from reading the comments of others before travelling to Athens, I sort of owe this to do the same. The choice for hotel Arion was one of having to get 6 people in a hotel in short notice : I didn't have much options by then, if I had, I... more

My husband, 12 year old son and I stayed here from Feb 16-18. Our room was on the 2nd floor (4th stories up) and we experienced none of the noise noted in some reviews. (Our windows were shut though, and I imagine in summer, if open, it could be noisy.) Our room faced the church and the view was lovely.... more

This is a wonderful hotel in the perfect location. It is a short walk to all the ruins, the metro, shopping and restaurants. The rooms were clean and the bedding much nicer than other hotels we've stayed. The bathroom has a hair dryer and is large for European standards. The rooftop has a spectacular view of the city. The breakfast... more

Ok. Being 5 mins walk to Monastiraki, the location might not be any better. However at night, the hotel surrounding is far from pleasant. Get used to walking pass very dark and narrow streets and very old (some abandoned) shops. Those dark streets are not at all empty though, as there are lots of women hunting for business in the... more

The Arion was totally refurbished on the site of an old hotel in 2004 for the Olympic games. I lies in an up and coming area close to Monastiraki station. You leave the station from the Athinas st. exit but not on to the main street but the opposite direction and follow the back street to the top and bare... more

I was here on business and for the meetings it was very convenient. It was clean and had flat screen tv's. The bathroom looked very new and was efficient. The hotel has a free breakfast which you can help yourself and was certainly enough choice. There is no evening meals but it's a couple of mins from many restaurants. The... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in mid September. As stated the hotel is easily reached by train from the airport and then a short walk from Monastiraki metro station (a map is essential though). The hotel itself is quite nice, well located and fairly priced. The surrounding area is very scruffy and grotty (seemingly like most of... more
