After a three night stay in Bertrams Guldsmeden we don’t understand its official four star classification and its rating as Trip Advisor’s # 2 in Copenhagen. Our ‘superior deluxe’ room was accessed via a tiny jerky elevator and two flights of stairs. The bed was comfortable but the room was small, with inadequate storage, poor lighting and warped drawers. The... more

We saw this was a popular hotel on Trip advisor and it lived up to most of the reviews. We had a problem with our internet booking but the staff were very friendly and understanding. We had booked a standard double but Room 108 seemed to have all the facilities of a superior room. It was clean, extremely comfortable and... more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Located in a non tourist area - seemed primarily Turkish. Rooms small but well decorated, bed side lighting impossible for reading and bathroom tiny and shower head had a mind of its own. Good organic products and pleasant courtyard garden. more

Stayed here for family reunion in August '06. Incredible breakfast buffet. Rooms small but comfy. Annex rooms are larger, but older section has more character. Be sure to ask for a fan (limited supply) as it can get a little warm, but not uncomfortably so. Very friendly and professional staff. Stopped by to check out their sister hotel in Aarhus,... more

I stayed at the hotel for two nights in May. It is charming, small, with the friendliest service and most delicious breakfast buffet. The room itself was a little musty with a very unique bathroom - no shower curtain and the towels were on a movable wooden rack, but fantastic water pressure and housecleaning cleaned the wet towels on the... more

The hotel Guldsmeden is an excellent example of a small, reasonably priced hotel with a good location in a great town. The hotel location is good, there are a couple of nice cafes nearby, though I would recommend taking some meals in the hotel, see below. Its most striking feature is the "offset" lift, which goes to each half floor... more

I stayed here for two night on business. The room was not large but fine for one. The bed consisted of two single mattresses on a double bed base and was made with two duvets. The "bathroom" was also rather small and had nowhere to put the towels except on a wooden rack inside the shower area, which then had... more

My wife and I stayed there 3 nights in mid-April. All the lovable quirkiness that has been posted here is true. You have to walk up 5 steps from the elevator to get to your floor (or go to the next floor and walk down 5 steps). The bath/hand shower is challenging the first time for Americans. But the service... more

This hotel is absolutely lovely. Friendly, helpful staff and very comfortable rooms. The breakfast, especially the coffee, was something to look forward to each morning. As others have stated, bus line 6A picks up right in front of the hotel, and is a very easy way to access central station and the Stroget. I will definitely stay here again if/when... more

Great little hotel with the friendliest staff ever. Free wireless access is very useful for business traveler. Only problem could be the lift doesn't actually stop on each floor but between floors so you'll have to carry your luggage 1/2 a floor up or down. more
