We stayed at Glymur more than a year ago, but I still wanted to share my review due to the excellent service we received during our trip. Glymur is an easy drive from the airport, Reykjavik, or the Snaefell Peninsula, our previous destination. The view from the hotel is amazing; the view of the hotel, not so much. Arriving at... more

I want to second others' good opinions of Hotel Glymur. We chose the hotel based on their website and Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. In fact the hotel was even better than the website led us to expect . Everything about Glymur is welcoming, from the layout and furnishings of the common rooms, to the relaxed friendliness and... more

We just came from Iceland and Hotel Glymur where we spent our wedding anniversary. We loved the location, the view, the welcoming atmosphere, good service and clean & personal room. The welcome was warm and we felt at home right from the first moment. They were very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast was generous with a lot of choices. We... more

We recently stayed at Hotel Glymur and were made to feel like part of the family. It was beautiful to wake up every morning to a view of the breath-taking fjord, and to the smell of perfectly brewed coffee, cinnamon and ginger biscuits (these are available all day). The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of meat, cheese,... more

Fantastic 5 days in Iceland. Hotel lived up to it's reputation. The staff couldn't be more helpful, especially when we sustained a puncture ( watch out for those gravel roads). Food was superb but expensive-as in the rest of Iceland. Wine list good, starting at 3300 kronas a bottle. It's a good idea to pack flip-flops for the icy trot... more

Id like to give this hotel my full recommendation. My wife and i travelled to Iceland in July to get married at the Glymur. We had the holiday of our lives and a wedding to remember. The Hotel was amazing. Its location, its staff, the accomodation and the food are all top notch. We had a party of 8 guests... more

We made a return visit this year to our favorite hotel in Iceland. A great place to chill out after two weeks travelling around this amazing country - a spot of luxury before returning home. The food has always been excellant and the owners and staff most friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite distinctive and full of unusual peices... more

We loved it! An ideal spot for our honeymoon, close enough to the city and other places of interest and just that bit off the beaten path to make it feel intimate and secluded. A nighttime dip in the hot tubs is a must, especially the dash to and from the warmth of the hotel! Asta, the reception manager was... more

A very friendly staff greeted us and let us check in very early (about 12:00 noon). The rooms here are unique with the bedroom being a second floor loft in the rooms. The view of the Fjord was very nice. Breakfast was included. We did not eat dinner here. The bathroom was quite nice and roomy. We had a room... more

We were a family of four that stayed in the "largest, best" suite available at Hotel Glymur for two nights in July. I had read many excellent reviews of the hotel, and they were all accurate. It was located in a truly magnificent spot in Iceland, not too far (about an hour's drive) from Reykjavik -- definitely worth the travel... more
