Having been transferred from another Shearings hotel and having read the reports on Tripadvisor, I was duly worried as I had booked on behalf of friends. after reading previous reviews I was very concerned in fact rung hotel to see if it was worn out and dirty. On arrival the room was immaculate, it looked refurbished. Stayed for a 2 day break, hotel appeared worn out and in need of an urgent revamp .Rooms need decorating. Staff were very helpful and polite. Menu very basic/bland could do with an update more variety. more

my mum is in a wheelchair, she is 83yrs old when we first entered the hotel me &mum had to use tradesmans entrance as there is no other way if you are wheelchair bound and struggled to get into the lift,obviously the hotel isn't adapted for wheelchair users.but our room was excellent!the food could have been better,but the service was... more
