We had a large ensuite room, tea/coffee making and a TV. The inn is next to the A1, but we weren't troubled by noise. It was very clean, and the staff very pleasant, and helpful. We paid £55 for a double room, the price included an very good buffet breakfast, (eat as much as you like). They are open to... more

The Ram Jam has been a favourite stop for lunch for many years. It has changed management recently, and I have read some very negative reviews on this website. I do not understand them. Lunch now has a buffet on offer. I am aware that buffets can be a death knell: this one certainly is not. Fine salads and a... more

Stayed here after a fruitless search in nearby Stamford (where there seem's to be a dearth of accommodation). Initially had reservations about the place, but we we given a very spacious and sunny room looking over the backyard (away from the noisy A1, so quite rural). Decor a little peeling, but has the trappings of a classic highway inn of... more

My family has been familiar with the Ram Jam since the 1940's. We have been regular visitors to the restaurant over the past 27 years en route from Surrey to Yorkshire. Over about the past two years we have noticed a steady deterioration but the 'lunch' that we had there on Saturday 15th March was absolutely dreadful! All that was... more

I stopped at this hotel on a very drizzling evenings drive up North for the night. The room was large and accomodating; with a comfortable if a little hard double bed and all relevant amenities. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had a light supper of sandwich; which was tasty and filling and reasonabley priced. Breakfast was good and... more

This is has always been our first stop on the way to Scotland and last stop on our way home. Staff have always been helpful and friendly and the surroundings are comfortable. This time we arrived just before 11.30am in time for a late breakfast or so we thought! The board said that breakfast was served until 11.30am. We were... more

I travelled north to Ram Jam Inn to meet my cousin who (you guessed it) lives north ot the inn. We enjoyed a 3 hour meeting in comfortable surroundings. We each had 2 coffees and a sausage & onion sandwich... delicious. The staff were very attentive (I am disabled) and helpful. I am sure we will meet there again. Many... more

We have known and enjoyed the Ram Jam Inn for 40 years. We stopped for "lunch". The service was ok, but what emerged from the kitchens was appalling - inedible - the worst meal ever - I am not even sure it was food. more

The last time I stayed at this hotel it had limited facilities but it was more or less acceptable. What a difference a year makes! My recent three night stay at the Ram Jam was among the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. I admit to being unlucky and being given Room 1, which I am sure must... more
