I could only find one minor quibble - the tea tray was a bit sparse. Other than that we could fault nothing. The room was clean with adequate space and furnishings, beds comfortable, shower room fine, location beautiful and peaceful. The owners were welcoming and amiable without being over-bearing and the food delicious. We would certainly return. more

We found this wonderful place quite by accident on the internet. The house and location looked very nice on their website - but both turned out to be even nicer once we got there. Our stay was not good at all. Breakfast was very poor and not at good as the one we had when we stayed in Feb 2006. Current owners were difficult and rooms were not up to standard. Price has fallen but then so has the quality too. I would stay away from Hampsfell Hotel. more
