Very friendly and helpful proprietors and staff. Our superb three-day stay started the moment we checked-in. After a few minutes' chat about food she gave us worthy recommendations on local restaurants. This tone of guidance continued throughout the stay. The hotel has been refurbished very tastefully. Our room seemed small but it did not matter as it was very comfortable... more

We (my husband and I) just came back from a wonderful stay at the Woodlands Hotel, at the Lake District. Our stay was perfect. In fact we ended up staying an extra night. I had a peek at most of the rooms and I was amazed at how well they were designed. Each room was unique and so cosy that... more

Stayed at this lovely hotel for one night passing through bowness. The woodlands has been renovated and the owners have put a lot of energy and thought into making this a top class yet inviting hotel. Perfect location, modern room and great lounge/breakfast area. The rooms have just been renovated and are superb. The breakfast was outstanding! The hotel has... more

Just had a great weekend at the Woodlands Hotel, the weather could have been kinder but the hotel more than made up for this with a really warm welcome. The room was much more than the usual bed and breakfast places in the Lakes, and the breakfast was superb, lots of choice freshly cooked for a change!! Had a lovely... more

A great hotel if you fancy a nice weekend in the Lakes, I've taken my girlfriend there twice now, we just love the place. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring Windermere as well as being close to the towns of Bowness and Windermere, so there are places to go and eat out at night. The small bar in... more

Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night....wish it could have been longer ! I booked the hotel directly, after researching & reading reviews on the internet, & was pleased with the efficient booking process & quick receipt of confirmation. The hotel is a lovely building which has recently been fully refurbished in a modern style. It is in a... more

Stayed here second weekend in January, what a find!! We looked on the internet for hours and liked the look of this one, we especially like newly refurbished places. This place certainly does not disapoint on any level. The rooms are just fantastic, brand new bathrooms which although not huge are modern, and bright. Alan the owner is great, he... more

The staff at the Woodlands were warm and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us. The room was spotlessly clean as was the whole of the B&B. The breakfasts were fantastic, really tasty. There was a wide range of choices, form cereal's to yoghurt's and fruit. The full English was especially nice. We were finding it difficult too find somewhere... more

Older hotel. In need of new carpet, beds and lighting. My bed was pretty comfortable but the carpet in the bathroom was a bit sketchy.. I was told they woud remodel soon. I had a single room it was about 6 feet wide and about 8 feet long. The twin rooms were larger but not large. One of the rooms... more

After seeing the website and the brochure, we were really looking forward to our stay here. On arrival we found out we were in the attic (up 43 stairs), room was small and the bathroom tiny. The bathroom was not the cleanest, and all the decor was tired. Even with running the cold tap in the sink, the shower water... more
