I'm not usually into the B&B thing, but I loved my stay. Breakfast was top notch, my room had a great view of the beach, and I never felt like anything but family. more

We stayed for six nights at Cairn Bay Lodge, we chose it because of favourable Trip Advisor reviews. We were in the Ballyholme Bay room which was lovely and spacious, overlooking the bay. It was quite large and had a nice big bathroom, all very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was superb, cooked to perfection with a wide choice.... more

The Cairn Bay Lodge is a beautiful house with lots of period features and decoration added to with a fair sprinkling of modern style. “Shabby Chic” beautifully executed. Vintage furnishings married to modern prints and fabrics produce an easy going effortless style; a DVD player tucked underneath a classic sewing machine table, coffee, tea and biscuits supplied in an old... more

This is the second time we have stayed at this guesthouse and we were pleased we done so. Technically, this guesthouse is in Ballyholme, which is just on the outskirts of Bangor town. This means the visitor can avail of lovely views of Belfast Lough and a leisurely stroll along the strand/boulevard. Bangor would be fifteen minutes walk away from... more

Due to an unexpected ferry delay in Belfast due to the tail-end of Hurricane George, we were stuck with no place to stay because of a multitude of high-profile events in town. Over a pint (or two) and the bed & breakfast book from the local tourist bureau, with cell phone in hand, this was about the 20th place I... more

We have stayed numerous times at Cairn Bay Lodge set amongst beautiful gardens with wonderful views of Ballyholme bay and beyond. We have always found the accommodation most comfortable and stylish, with individual features attached to each room. The breakfasts are the best we've ever experienced with its mixture of fruit, Ulster frys and the new 'special options' - smoked... more

Luckily although we read the earlier review we decided that was not enough to make a decision and went to stay at Cairn Bay Lodge. If you like period features and attention to detail then this is a beautiful house, as for breakfast We think a help yourself buffet of fruit juice, fruit and cereal followed by toast, and a... more

Value this hotel is not you will receive a piece of paper on arrival with a list of breakfast foods example egg bacon etc tick what you want and what time will you show, up to nine am. The breakfast was certainly not a traditional ULSTER FRY. All round the word to describe the meal was measly. The whole place... more
