when we arrived the entrance and drive looked quite impressive, and then it got slowly worse. checked out the very average room and was amazed to see out of the window broken old windows covering the kitchen area skylights, not good! and a dirty uncovered extractor fan......decided to have a drink in the bar. but beer pumps faulty... bottled beer... more

After a few months of renevations, the Gorteen underwent an amazing make over. Stylishly furbished and warm, it is completely homely. I recommend a nite in the adjoining niteclub, Jensens. Just the ticket for a fun, drunken night out! Great craic, great music, great hotel. more

I think that the Gorteen is quite a good nite spot apart from the fact that there are some very ill mannered youngsters who are regular attenders.
