Staying at Woolley Grange was a step out of our normal every day life into a world of luxury, in style, but in a very low key, relaxed way. The room was gorgeous - a huge room, with a large bathroom (two basins!), over looking the front of the hotel. There was great attention to detail, like the antique furniture,... more

Needed a good hotel in a hurry, to attend a funeral. Lastminute.com listed Woolley Grange and their website looked good so we booked. The food was wonderful - I see an old review here says it'd gone downhill: it's back up now. And they made more effort than any other hotel ever has to cater for our gluten-free requirements. The... more

After four wonderful nights at Fowey Hall Hotel in Cornwall (see review), we drove to Bradford on Avon for two more nights at Woolley Grange. It is inevitable that we would compare the two. This is a beautiful hotel. There are plenty of lounges to hang out in and the rooms have a lot of character. The staff were friendly... more

After reading some of the previous reviews, we were concerned about our holiday and seriously considered a change of hotel. However, very glad we stuck with Woolley Grange as the hotel was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Our 18 month old enjoyed the creche and being able to wander around the hotel and grounds... more

Just back from a perfect four night stay here with my wife and three kids[aged 1,2 3].Cannot fault it. do not expect ritz carlton luxury marble etc. This is old world. creaky floors, haunted rooms and feeling. Staff were very helpful and unobtrusive, just ask and they will do anything they can. For the kids the playhouse was a great hit... more

Take heed from what people have said, and go to Calcott Manor instead! If they're full, change the date of your trip! The "luxury" tag for this hotel is seriously misplaced - yes it's a beautiful building but it has not been properly converted for hotel use (probably hard to do with such an old building) but even leaving aside... more

As with all luxury family hotels Woolley Grange is not a cheap experience. However, our experience was a very positive one. Our room, Hayloft, was huge - not spectacularly nicely furnished but very comfortable. The service was charming, if sometimes a bit slow and chaotic. The house and grounds are beautiful and the food delicious. The pool was very clean... more

We booked the best room in the hotel. Not to be flash but becuase we have three kids and it seemed like a good choice. It is called the Hayloft and is recommended in Mr & Mrs Smith. The room itself was fine although the lobby smelt heavily of cigarette smoke. There was also the excessive use of plug-in air... more

The hotel was pricey but we accepted this for the rare opportunity for a baby friendly hotel break with facilities. From the first however the impression was money grabbing when half of our welcome letter was concerned with how we would loose our money if we cancelled, even if our baby was ill. We were surprised at this but still... more
