Can't speak more highly of the Y. Located in the centre of Sydney, it is very clean and comfortable, relatively modern with a low-moderately priced tarriff. I won't say much because the other reviews here are pretty fair/accurate. Check out DrOxford's review of 26 Jan 2006. I stayed in one of their 'traditional' rooms. Having stayed there before, i had no hesitation in returning there to stay. The only downside is the staff could be more helpful. Apart from that it's excellent value for money compared to the neighbouring hotels i.e. the Marriott etc. Would defintely stay there again. more

Stayed @ the Y for 5 nights in Feb, because of its locality and reasonable reviews on Tripadvisor.
