“Friendly hostel”

We enjoyed our stay here, staff were really friendly and helpful. Its quite a small hostel so really easy to meet people. Its about a 25 minute walk in to town so isnt too far away, they do offer free buses in to town at certain times during the day, make sure you book a seat though. Theres a free... more

Stayed only 2 nights but had good time. Cairns is bit boring for me. Too many backapckers bars with no taste, better go up to the top... but nice place and helpful people more

I stayed at Castaways in Aprill '03. The staff were some off the most helpful and friendly I encountered on my travels. The hostel was clean and good value for money. There was also a bus service running regularly into Cairns centre with a cute scottish driver thrown in!! more
