The quiet sound of waves crashing around you, the right amount of privacy to make it special, but not enough to make you feel totally alone. Fitzroy Island is a great place to take a break from total tourist mania. It isn't as popular as Green Island which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy peacefully. I recommend... more

What a terrible place! Booked the "nicest" accomodation option- a cottage at $220 a night, which was really dingy. The whole place was a dump, basically, except for the lovely little beach (a 20 minute walk from the resort). The snack bar didn't seem to have any snacks- we didn't actually manage to get anything for lunch except for chips... more

Fitzroy Island was a huge disappointment compared to the rest of my Australia experience. The island is beautiful but the accommodations are poor. We walked around the island, which was nice and tried snorkeling, but the visibility was too poor to see anything. The pool, bar and restaurant were ok, but nothing special.
