We used Jetstar and the flight was great. We booked reef view but were put in Whitsunday apartments which were older and the furniture, especialy the king bed which had it use by date. Very disapointed considering the amount paid for the reef hotel. If you're considering going to this island and you're on a budget, book an apartment with... more

Poinciana 207- One main bedroom with lounge room which has a fold out sofa bed. The view is amazing and their are wallabies and birds which you can watch from your balcony. This aprtment faces the best part of Hamilton- the Catseye Beach. Panorama 7- Two bedrooms one with double bed one room with two single beds. This aptment was... more

Hamilton Island has everything you could want: airport, shuttle service to the hotel(s), groceries, restaurants, bars, beaches, trails, etc. That being said, there was something almost over the top about it. I went there with the thinking that it was centrally located within the Whitsundays. However, once already there and booked, I found that ferry service to the other islands... more

After reading a number of reviews of Hamilton Island, I feel compelled to write my own. My family and I (wife and 2 childen, 11 and 8) visited Hamilton Island from Melbourne and flew Jetstar. Brilliant direct flight from Tullamarine and would certainly fly them again (in fact we are already booked in again for September!) We stayed in one... more

Arrived on a slightly rainy but warm day, and was collected from airport and taken to accommodation in the Whitsunday Apartments. We were very glad to be put in a room on the ground floor (as requested) and luggage was delivered to room. The room was a little tired but comfortable. Only downside was no bath in the bathroom. Also... more

Stayed here for a family wedding and loved every minute. Very well organised resort although restaurant service was a liitle slow, but then we were in no rush. Although it's a large resort it's designed so we never felt overcrowded. We stayed in a Palm Bungalow which was excellent. A very large room with kingsize bed plus a sofabed, TV,... more

We stayed at the Poinciana 8 on Hamilton Island. We paid $330 a night for a 2 bedroom apartment. We were greeted at the airport and brought to our apartments which is only 5 mins buggy ride away. Apartment was lovely, clean, spacious and in a perfect location and it comes with a golf buggy (usually costs $80 a day... more

My husband & I found these apartments to be too pricey. Food on the island is so-so and expensive. Prices for hiring a buggy to get around the island were ridiculous. Rooms were huge and we had a good view of the beach though. We had a good time diving & snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. Overall, we really... more

We (two adults and a 13 year old) had a week in a superior 2 bedroom apartment (Panorama 14). Apartment was nice enough with big balconies, good kitchen and good sized rooms. Cleanliness was average as was quality of kitchen equipment compared to some places we have stayed. Several lights didn't work when we arrived but maintenance cheerfully and quickly... more

We stayed at Shorelines #13 during our stay at Hamilton Island. We stayed for 6 days during April and it was pretty cool. I initially told them I was arriving after 3pm but after leaving for an early ferry from shute harbour (we stayed at airlie beach for 3 days), we decided that we wanted to go early to Hamilton... more
