The picture of Basil Fawlty behind the reception desk couldn't be more misleading. Rhonda and her husband are both charming and helpful. The hotel has other things going for it as well: It's right by a long, sandy beach, and yet it's quiet. The rooms are large, with plenty of cupboard space. Interesting place - nicely restored old cricket club right on the beach at Henley Beach, so location is fabulous. Rooms are clean & quite nicely furnished, but the air con condensation drains into a bathroom drain with a very long drop, and the resulting echoing drip when we turned it on was like water torture.
