Booked 2 nights at the "4* Secret Hotel" on lastminute.com. Was a little concerned on discovering it was the Hotel Grand Chancellor - I'd read the reviews here. However our stay was good value for $99/night. The property is very well located in the city, within walking distance of the main attractions, shops, good restaurants, with public transport at the... more

I booked my three night stay at the GCH during one of the busiest times in Adelaide, over the Womad weekend. I was surprisely upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean with more amenities than I expect in a hotel such as a microwave. The hotel is in a great location, minutes from Rundle St... more

In a city CBD full of quite excellent hotels I drew this one. Its not so much that its bad - just that there is so much that is better. I was upgraded to a spa room (not a suite). For some reason they had decided they would install a spa bath in the (fairly large) room - near the... more

We had a terrible stay here. My room smelt of sewerage and the air conditioning was not working on a 44' day. Staff were unhelpful and uncaring. To this day (nearly 1 month later)am still awaiting a follow up from the numerous complaints made. Very poor service. more

We had an overnight stay at the Grand Chancellor. Whie the decor in our room was a little dated, the room was large, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and, even though we were overlooking the main road, the double-glazing on the windows meant that there was almost no noise. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were... more

My daughter and I stayed at the Grand Chancellor for three nights in room 310 this December, 07. The room itself is very roomy with two double beds, comfortable chair and footstool, and also table and chairs. The bathroom could do with a little updating, found the shower difficult to get into and out of. Also hate shower curtins. But... more

We had an unusally long stay of 2 weeks in July and the staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible with 2 children by accommodating us with plates & cutlery so as to give our children some meals. I can't just name one particular staff member as they all were very helpful and... more

This was my second time at the hotel and they gave me the same great room and a nice 'welcome back' note with an invitation to join a hotel rewards program. The price is reasonable when booked online and the location is excellent, a short stroll to shops and entertainment. Despite the inner city location, the hotel was very quiet... more

I stayed for 1 night (a Sat night); I arrrived half an hour earlier than check-in time at 2pm, but staff gave me the room regardless. I also asked for late check-out the next day at no extra charge (ie., 12 noon, instead of 10am) and it was no problem at all. The room had a king size bed and... more

Having seen the hotel chain's property in Singapore, I was initially apprehensive about going for the Grand Chancellor instead of my original choice of Hotel 208 (if you've never set your sights on the Grand Central Hotel in Singapore, good for you!). But what finally won me over was the genuine warmth and sincerity that Lisa (the hotel's business development... more
