We stayed 2 nights at the Magnolia Court, and for the price, it was very good value. Free parking and breakfast were included in our deal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband found no fault with the rooms, but as a fussy female, I found some of the fixtures to be dusty and grubby. The room we stayed... more

Reasonable rates, easy stroll to the Melbourne CBD, even closer to the MCG. Good management, helped make our stays enjoyable ones on two separate trips. Excellent breakfast and the room was both comfortable and quiet. more

Staying in room 25 at this so called boutique hotel was the worst stay at any establishment. We where greeted by the head of a 3inch nail protruding out of the fold out bed, this was an accident waiting to happen. Yes i caught my leg on it. And yes it hurt. The young lady on reception turned up with... more

Is it us? When I see boutique I expect buzzy, smart, exciting. What we get here is shabby, tired and disappointing. We stayed in the balcony suite comprising a small bedroom with lager sitting area. The furnishings were a hotchpotch of various styles the decoration faded and repairs having been poorly executed. The balcony was nice but only to get... more

After previous visit where we had received the wrong room and no breakfast, management contacted us and offered a free night in the deluxe room. This was what we had previously booked but not received. This was a large room, separate bathroom and toilet and nicely furnished with period touches. It was quite elegant and romantic. The house itself is... more

My husband I booked a week at the Magnolia Court Boutique Hotel and had a fantastic time, the staff could not have been more helpful. We we fortunate enough to have a deluxe room with the balcony overlooking lovely terrace houses of East Melbourne. The bathroom was generous and newly renovated. Breakfast in the sunny dining room could not have... more

I loved my short stay at Magnolia Court Boutique Hotel. It was very peaceful, hosted by a group of lovely workers and new owners. I had the luxury of a room with a balcony, where I could enjoy a hot cuppa, the surrounds and the whistling of birds in the treetops on a quiet Sunday morning. The variety of foods... more

A well located small hotel in a lovely quiet street. The management were welcoming and the place has huge potential...but....the housekeeping in the bedrooms lets the place down. Managerment need to monitor this closely as there is more to good housekeeping than changing towels. Our shower fitting spouted water from various joints that should have been sealed - we fixed... more

I will begin with the positives: The hotel is really well located, walking distance to trams and very close to MCG. The breakfast is buffet style for fruit/cereal and the hot stuff is cooked to order which was great as heated/precooked bacon/eggs are never nice. "Boutique Room" has lots of natural light. Staff were friendly. Negatives: 'Boutique' in this case... more
