The location is great. It's 2 mins from the Queen Victoria Market, where you can get good value meals and great choices of deli food if you're packing lunch. Bouquets: Very clean room. Housekeeping staff did a very good job. Woman bar staff member very helpful in sourcing 2 boxes I needed (reception staff couldnt be bothered - too lazy!) Nice meals. Brickbats: Non-existent customer service. eg No porter service, did not receive wake-up call morning of departure, (thankfully had back-up) reception staff need immediate re-training in customer service... more

We stayed here during the tennis open. It is two blocks from the victoria market(fun) and reception was the most helpful of any places we stayed. A Mr. Joe Daly was very helpful. more

Agree with most other reviews ... clean & tidy, although slightly outdated. The rooms are reasonably quiet, the air conditioning works, the water is hot, and the beds are comfortable. I recently stayed at the Ibis Melbourne for three nights. The location of the hotel is just one block from the Victoria Market and a short 10 minute walk down Swanston Street to the CBD. Average 2.5 -3 star budget hotel. Rooms are basic but clean. Storage of bags was a problem as the baggage room is very small with no security. 100 metres to Victoria Markets. Trams only a block away. Buffet breakfast was good but basic. Good value for money budget hotel in the heart of Melbourne. more

We arrived in Melbourne about 8pm and the taxi driver hadn't heard of the Ibis and struggled to use his satnav. It is a bit out of the way and we had to walk some way to find something to eat (take-away) at 10pm on first night. We were put in double room although I had asked for twin beds.... more
