Well, yes this is not a lovely place to stay. It is noisy and worse than most of the hostels, rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are quite grubby and smell bad.......but it won't kill you if you have earplugs and require a CHEAP hotel. However - the staff are very nice and helpful, it has a good location the... more

I stayed in this hotel for 2nights, it was the worst 2nights sleep i have ever had!! Our room was facing Beach Road and everytime a truck or something passed by the window and door or the room rattled...had 2buy earplugs for the 2nd night!! The shower was a disaster and room horrible. I would not advise anyone to stay... more

I stayed here 3 nights. The hotel is old and run down, but not so bad. The bed was clean and comfortable. The shower was good. There was a bit of a view out the window. The location was convenient. Staff were helpful. There's a great restaurant and a good bar on the top floor (both with separate management). Two... more

Well, don't have any problems. Good location, Clean Room and Friendly Staff. Yes, the room is a bit small and the hotel is very old, but very reasonable prcie. You get what you pay for. I paid only $50, so never expect a flash sea view room. more

We stayed here our first two nights in New Zealand. We got a great price and are on a budget. The room was clean but admittedly the hotel itself could do with a renovation job. I don't have anything bad to say about the hotel as we had a lovely stay. It was quiet and clean and we didn't have... more

I was tempted to write this comments upon looking at all the reviews on this particular hotel as i myself had a really bad experience with management of this hotel that i cut short my stay! I checked in at this hotel and immediately noticed a ""show off" person, who keep interupting our conversation with a staff at the reception(without being... more

The staff here left me feeling judged and abused. They are unorganised, the rooms are dreadful, and facilities were constantly out of order. One would think the owners of this hotel didn't want anybody staying here. The staff were so incredibly rude over the phone I couldn't believe it. Staying at a backpackers is a far more enjoyable experience than... more

I've stayed in nicer, cleaner youth hostels than this 'hotel'. The rooms are dirty, smelly and damp with grim bed linen. The bathroom is small and ours had cracked floor tiles, cacked mirror and a disfunctional shower door. We also moved out after 1 night. Don't stay here. Pay NZD$10 more per night for a nicer hotel. more

First i made the booking thru the phone but was horribly greeted with a foreign sounding young ladies voice that i could not understand a single word(why would anybody hire such untrained person)After much effort finally booked thru online last june 2006 and checked in on the following month and was greeted in the reception with a neatly dressed well... more
