“This Palace crashed our holiday”

We booked an ensuite room for two night in October 1996 as the review from Lonely Planet was OK. When we checked in the evening, we were given a room without ensuite. The bed was not made and extremely dirty. The place smelled terribly. We went to the counter to complain and was changed to a disabled room with toilet/shower... more

We arrived in Rotorua at the at the beginning of April, for a one-night stop over. We tried a few places but many were full. We ended up at the Crash Palace Back Packers. I can honestly say that during our three month travels (Aus. NZ, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and South Africa) that this was the worst accomodation we experienced.... more
