Walked in having left a terrible hotel around the corner and were very well looked after. Stayed a couple of nights, after only intending to stay one. Good base to explore the surroundings and gooad, if basic standard of accomodation. I would stay here again. more

Stayed here in Feb 08. Must have got the last available room - room 1001 (room 1 on first floor). Road noise throughout day - should have double glazing. Reception noise - reception open long hours with very little in the way of a noise barrier - you can here every conversation and phone call. Also seemed to be a... more

We stayed here for one night and were impressed with many aspects of the hotel - the bedroom itself was very comfortable and very tastefully decorated, reception staff were very pleasant and it's located very close to the town centre. As previous reviewers have mentioned though, the quality of the fittings in the bathroom was not to the standard of... more

A very pleasant hotel in a town where most of the accommodation is in motels or B&Bs. There is a high standard of decor throughout and the staff were friendly and helpful. As the hotel only serves breakfast, they were happy to recommend some places to eat. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a small kitchenette area. I'm sure... more

Date 15/04/08 Reviewer: Office Manager of a Dunedin Hotel I recently stayed at the Chateau over Easter and was so impressed that I had to let others know about this little gem. First impressions pulling up to the property were pleasing seeing as it is a very unique style of building and not just a square box like many other... more

Chateau Marlborough advertises itself as luxury accommodation. Ours was adequate rather than real luxury. We had a studio room that was advertised as having a full kitchen and bath. The former turned out to be 2 small electric rungs and a micro microwave,. And the latter was small and squashed into what at first we thought was a cupboard. The... more

The staff at Chateau Marlborough were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was surprisingly well equipped, with a kitchenette, comfy seats and a desk - more like a classy motel room than the hotel it was billed as. The bathroom had a strange arrangement with too many doors, which was a bit awkward but was usable. The breakfast was a... more

I booked this hotel thinking that it was as described - a luxury boutique hotel. Unfortunately that is simply not the case. The fixtures and fittings were lacking in quality and the bathroom was looking tired and in need of modernisation. Not sure which organisation awarded the 5 stars - maybe it was the Blenheim Tourist Board and thus they... more

Thank you for your feeback. In response to your comments our 5 star self contanined and serviced rating is Qualmark standards which is a National recognised rating. This rating is given yearly after a very in depth appraisal of the property. Our bathrooms are being upgraded progressively in the next 12 months but are still of a good standard. Our...

The hotel is about a 10 minute stroll out of town. Our room was tastefully furnished in modern design and was made up of a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and comfortable sofas to watch the flat screen tv. The bedroom also had a tv. It would have been so much better had it not been a ground floor... more

Great position in town and very friendly and helpful staff. Quite a nice little swimming pool with deck area for relaxing after a day's sightseeing. Room was spacious and comfortable and bathroom adequate. Breakfast was available to order by dish but it was just as easy to eat in town. more
