My wife and I toured New Zealand in Feb and March 2008. We stayed at 12 Lodges and we found Evergreen to be the one that made our holiday really special. Why - well from the moment Murray our host burst through the frontdoor to welcome us to the sad farewell after 4 nights we were treated like royalty. Our... more

We arrived at Evergreen after a very long journey from the UK and the weariness of travel evaporated within minutes. Tish and Murray are delightful hosts, with your every need expertly taken care of. The lodge itself is luxurious whilst still retaining the feeling of home-comforts thanks to Marie's fantastic cooking. We hope to get back to Queenstown soon and... more

We arrived at Evergreen Lodge on a beautiful day after a long journey from the UK. We were met by Murray and Tish, who from the outset were charming. Evergreen Lodge is situated in an idyllic position and our suite was of the highest quality with magnificent views. Murray and Tish organised dinner engagements and visits to local beauty spots.... more

Mum & i were greeted with a very warm welcome. Then we were driven to the Evergreen Lodge, on arrival we were shown to our room, with Stunning views over Lake Wakatipu. As we had a free afternoon the next day, our host recommended and kindly arranged for us a cruise on the T.S.S. Earnslaw Steam Ship, which took us over... more

We have stayed in some of the best hotels around the world, but if you are looking for something relaxed and special try Evergreen Lodge. Its like the home of old friends combined with 5 star hotel service (but without all those extra charges on the bill). Tish and Murray are relaxed hosts who organise all your sightseeing, winery visits,... more

My wife and I stayed at Evergreen Lodge in January during a recent holiday touring in New Zealand from the UK. The Lodge, located at Sunshine Bay, is situated in a secluded location with wonderful views overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. We found Murray and Tish Acklin, the owners, very welcoming and hospitable people. Nothing was too much... more

This was our first time in New Zealand, and what a perfect way to get introduced to a wonderful country! From the moment we arrived, we were pampered. Gourmet breakfasts, impromptu wine and cheese plates, freshly prepared snacks and cakes...and those views! The innkeepers (Murray & Tish) couldn't have been more accomodating or professional. We've travelled all over the world,... more

The incredible beauty of the South Island was only eclipsed by the impeccable hospitality of Murray & Tish Acklin. The Evergreen Lodge is a special refuge from the big and impersonal accommodation that often spoils a getaway. Good meals, great views and immaculate large rooms all knit together to form a warm and comfortable base from which to explore the... more
